Women Celebrating Women Reflection: How to Keep Giving Yourself Flowers
In the spirit of giving ourselves flowers and in honor of Women's History Month, I was thrilled to host the 4th Annual Women Celebrating Women virtual event this past Sunday. This event was a heartfelt tribute to all the incredible women out there – the glow getters within our community and the women who inspire us, uplift us, and remind us of the power of sisterhood. As we came together to celebrate, it was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on our wins, share our stories, and spread love and positivity to one another.
What is Women Celebrating Women all about? It's a celebration circle unlike any other – a space where women from all walks of life can come together to uplift and support one another. Over the years, I've had the privilege of spotlighting over 75 women, each sharing their unique journey and shining a light on other women who have inspired them. From entrepreneurs to creatives to community leaders, the Women Celebrating Women event is a testament to the incredible impact that women have on the world around us.
This year's event took place on Sunday, March 24th at 7 pm on Instagram Live and it was truly an evening to remember. Despite being virtual, the sense of connection and camaraderie was palpable as women from different backgrounds and experiences came together to celebrate one another. The event featured dozens of women in 5-minute increments each, giving each participant the opportunity to celebrate themselves and shine a light on other women who have made a difference in their lives. It was a celebration circle where love and positivity abounded, and participants and viewers left feeling uplifted, inspired, and empowered.
One of the highlights of the evening was witnessing the next generation of women join in the celebration. My oldest daughter, who is 10, was tuned in and loved every minute of it, dropping 🌷👏🏽 in the chat to celebrate everyone. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of teaching the next generation to celebrate themselves and others, to recognize their power, and to find joy in both the big and small moments of life.
For those who may have missed the live event, fear not – the replays are available on my Instagram page for your viewing pleasure. From empowering mini convos to a heartfelt closing prayer, every moment was filled with love and inspiration.
As we continue to bask in the glow of this celebration, I am reminded of the importance of celebrating ourselves on a daily basis. It's not just about waiting for special occasions or achievements; it's about recognizing and honoring our worth every single day. With that in mind, here are five simple yet powerful ways to celebrate ourselves and spread love to others:
1. Reflect on Your Wins
Take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate all of your accomplishments, big and small. Whether it's a personal milestone or a professional achievement, write them down and express gratitude for how far you've come.
2. give Yourself your Flowers
Literally! There's something magical about the simple act of giving yourself flowers. Whether you arrange them yourself or pick up a bouquet from the store, it's a beautiful reminder to honor and cherish yourself.
3. Spread Love to Others
Reach out to a fellow sister and share words of encouragement, support, or appreciation. Whether it's a text message, a phone call, or a heartfelt comment on social media, a little kindness goes a long way in lifting someone else up.
4. Engage in More Self-Care Activities
Prioritize your well-being by incorporating more self-care activities into your routine. Whether it's indulging in a relaxing bath, practicing mindfulness meditation, or simply taking a leisurely walk in nature, make time to nurture your mind, body, and soul.
5. Stop Waiting for Special Occasions
Don't wait for your birthday or a big occasion to celebrate – embrace the idea of celebrating just because. In a world where every moment is precious, take the time to revel in the beauty of everyday life and find joy in the simple pleasures.
As we continue to celebrate ourselves and each other, let's remember that every moment is an opportunity to honor the incredible women in our lives. So, I invite you to join me in the comments below and share a big or small win, something you're excited about, or simply spread a little love and positivity. Together, let's keep the celebration circle going and uplift one another every step of the way.
Keep glowing,
Shalyce
