Who Is Shalyce?

Who am I? I’ve shared my highlights and fun facts here, and will share a little more about me today with all of my new online friends :)

I’m an 80’s Baby. Dreamer + Doer. Cass and Cam’s Mama. Mrs. Tyson. Daughter. Sister. Lover of Laughter and Good Times. Encourager. Celebrator. Events Queen. Homegirl. Surviving adulthood somehow. Unapologetically me, and a big Music Lover. I shared that I’m starting piano lessons this Spring, and I’m hype for 2 reasons: 1) I always wanted to play, and 2) I stopped putting that desire on pause and finally did something about it. That’s really where I am in life right now, and going after all the things I really want to do. Whether I’m ultimately great at the piano or it doesn’t stick, I’ll no longer have regrets knowing I tried.

My favorite place in the world is my home. I work from home for the most part and share my home with the ones I love most — from movie nights with the kids, to snuggling in bed with my husband to sharing laughter with family and friends over food and games. Home is where my heart is. However, my love for home, doesn’t stop me from having a social life. I live for a good soiree, brunch, networking event, and good times out with good people. I think the events page and Sensational Soirees is evidence of that.

Speaking of my first business baby! My creative talents and logistical expertise led me to start Sensational Soirees in 2012, where my team and I specialize in event planning and design for weddings, soirees and corporate events. My work has been featured in print and online platforms such as Pop Sugar, Washingtonian Weddings, Munaluchi Bride, and B Collective Magazine. My love for events and community also led me to partner with Fab Wives, where I’m one of the DMV Division directors and help curate some really awesome events that I hope to see some of you at.

As if owning a business, working full-time and leading communities were not enough, here I am super excited to be launching my personal brand and blog centered around sharing life lessons, inspiration, content, and more for fellow glow getters. I have a special connection to women who are pursuing their passions and purpose, while raising their families, so I’ll also be sharing behind the scenes of my personal life. Additionally, I’m excited to be offering motivational apparel in my shop, so be sure to grab something to keep you inspired and check back monthly for new product releases. The Glow Getter mantra is truly a testament to my life’s journey at this stage — a woman committed to growth, achieving her goals and glowing from the inside out.

There are many more things I like, love and make me me that I’ll share more of as this blog evolves, but one thing you’ll quickly learn is I’m all about family. If you’re following me on any of my Instagram pages, you’ve already met #TeamTyson. From my football coach husband, to our athletic and awesome son, to our style loving and sweet daughter. That’s my squad! Like the saying goes, we may not have it all together, but together we have it all. My children are my biggest inspirations and motivation, and because of them I’m so focused on my legacy. Both of my children currently aspire to be chefs and entrepreneurs, and you better believe mama is thinking of a master plan to help make their dreams come to life.
