The Spicy and Sweet Seasoning You Must Try

If there is one thing my family loves, it’s a good home cooked meal. Needless to say, my spice cabinet is stocked. I was recently introduced to Shawhan Farms’ extensive collection of seasonings, and I’m loving them so far!

While I don’t cook Sunday dinners every Sunday, when I do, the fam is in for a special treat. Last week’s Sunday dinner featured short ribs, and the main character was the primary seasoning I used — Buck’s Spicy and Sweet BBQ Seasoning from Shawhan Farms. The flavor it gave those short ribs was a 10/10, highly recommend. I was also drawn to this particular seasoning because my dad’s nickname was Buck. If he were here, he would have crushed that meal like no one’s business lol. Family meals are definitely a staple I’ve always enjoyed.

The variety of seasonings and rubs that Shawhan Farms offers is guaranteed to spice up your next meal! Check them out for yourself and you can use promo code 50DinnerGlow for 50% off one unit of Buck’s Spicy and Sweet BBQ Seasoning until 4/3/2023.

I’ve gotten a few requests for the short ribs recipe after sharing the reel above, so here it is below.

Spicy and Sweet Short Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 4 - 6 short ribs

  • brown sugar

  • salt

  • onion

  • 1 can of diced tomatoes

  • beef broth

  • olive oil

  • flour

  • red cooking wine

  • Buck's Spicy and Sweet BBQ seasoning from Shawhan Farms

  • Dutch oven or deep skillet

Directions:

  • Rinse short ribs, then pat dry and season with Buck's Spicy and Sweet BBQ seasoning and salt.

  • Chop 1/3 cup of onions.

  • Add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil to a dutch oven or deep skillet.

  • Add the ribs and cook until they are browned all sides (about 10 minutes). Once browned, set ribs to the side.

  • Wipe out dutch oven or skillet, and add a little bit of olive oil.

  • Cook onions about 3-4 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of flour and a few splashes of red cooking wine and stir.

  • Add half a can of diced tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 16-24 ounces of beef broth. Stir and then add the short ribs back to the dutch oven.

  • Place the dutch oven in the oven, and bake on 350 degrees for 1 hour covered.

  • Enjoy!
