Women's HERstory Spotlight - Shauniece Morris
Welcome to Day 5 of the Women’s HERstory Celebration Circle. Today, I’m spotlighting beauty and lifestyle blogger Shauniece Morris. When I first met Shauniece at a workshop/photoshoot last year, I immediately connected with her dope personality. She is a ray of sunshine and super cool. As a fellow content creator, I really admire her consistency and how she authentically shares with her community, better known as curl friends.

Share with the glow getter gang a little bit about yourself.
I’m a 36 year old black woman, wife, and mother of two teen sons. I use my platform, Naturally Shauniece, to share my authentic approach to motherhood, beauty, and health and fitness with women around the country. Whether on YouTube, Instagram, or my blog, I can be found sharing hair and beauty tips, productivity tips for mothers, travel adventures with my son, and inspiring women to live life to the fullest.
As women, we sometimes don't give ourselves enough credit. However, I want you to take a moment to celebrate yourself. Please share one or more of your wins, or something you're proud of or excited about.
My most recent accomplishment is surviving a global pandemic with two sons in puberty! LOL! Seriously, something I’m most proud of is my ability to continuously adapt to whatever life has thrown at me. I may get discouraged, but I’m also able to start over and pick myself up again. I really like that quality about myself.
I love cheering on and celebrating glow getters - women committed to growth, achieving their goals and glowing from the inside out. Please share the names of at least 2 women who you feel embody what it means to be a glow getter and why.
I would like to acknowledge my mother, Laura Steward, who has taught me that its okay to redefine yourself at any age. My mom is the ultimate glow getter because she is deeply rooted in God, never gives up, and is always trying fun and new things. She’s taught me its never too late to go after your dreams.
The second is my friend Heather McCall, a true creative, mother of 3, founder and CEO of Really Cool Mats and Averiesun Photography, and one of the biggest cheerleaders for black women (@iamaveriesun). Heather is a true glow getter because she quietly works behind the scenes to build her business, Really Cool Mats, while balancing the demands of mothering 3 kids, and a wife to a police officer. I love Heather because she is one of main reasons I decided to start Naturally Shauniece. She poured into me and spoke life into what she thought I would be, often times providing professional photography services for free. She always there rooting and encouraging other women, but I don’t believe she gets the credit for showing up for herself day in and day out.
Women's history month is dedicated to celebrating not only women as a whole, but also our contributions that have helped shaped history, society, families and more. With that in mind, share the name of 1 woman you admire and why.
This is going to sound so cliche, but I have always admired Oprah. Her relentlessness, commitment to her personal growth, heart to serve others, and living her God given purpose, inspires me everyday. Oprah makes me believe I can truly overcome anything.
