Hersheypark: A Sweet Adventure for the Whole Family

If there is one thing my kids love, it’s amusement and water parks! Recently, we were gifted complimentary tickets to Hersheypark, and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience! Located in the heart of Hershey, Pennsylvania, this huge wonderland is a destination that offers something for everyone. Here’s why Hersheypark should be on your family’s must-visit list this summer (and beyond).

Why Choose Hersheypark?

Three Parks in One

Hersheypark stands out as more than just your average amusement park—it's a comprehensive experience that combines exhilarating rides with The Boardwalk water park, ZooAmerica, and the iconic Hershey's Chocolate World. That's four amazing attractions bundled into one ticket, offering unbeatable value and endless entertainment for the whole family!

Family-Friendly Layout

What sets Hersheypark apart is its thoughtful design, which mixes thrill rides with kiddie attractions in close proximity. This unique layout ensures that families can stick together and enjoy the park's offerings without constant separation. Hersheypark provides a seamless experience for guests of all ages and more than 70 family-friendly attractions. I had just as much fun as my kids, which made it such a special and fun family experience.

Planning Your Visit

We opted for a day trip since we're not too far away (less than a 3-hour drive!), but I'd definitely recommend a multi-day pass if you want to soak up everything Hersheypark has to offer. Here's a breakdown based on our day trip:

Morning Thrills: We planned to arrived early with the intention to beat the crowds. We got there shortly after opening and the people were there on a Monday! That said, try to get there as soon as they open. Once we got in the park, we dove straight into the rides. From kiddie attractions to adrenaline-pumping coasters like Skyrush and Comet (both recently upgraded!), there's no shortage of excitement for all ages. Pro tip: Consider a Fast Pass if you're big on skipping lines, especially during peak times.

Midday Refuel: By midday, we were ready to refuel. The food at Hersheypark is top-notch and not your average amusement park food. We dined at The Chocolatier Restaurant and enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles, and pizza that hit the spot. Trust me, you won't go hungry here! This particular restaurant is located near the entrance, so we were able to head back to the car to grab our swim bags.

Afternoon Splash: With our energy replenished, we headed to The Boardwalk. This 11-acre water park is a summer oasis with lazy rivers, water coasters, and plenty of splash-worthy fun. Don't forget your towels—the wave pool alone is worth the visit and that’s where the kids hung out the most!

Evening Delights: Before calling it a day, we swung by Hershey's Chocolate World for some sweet treats and souvenirs. The interactive experiences, like the Hershey’s tour, and chocolate-themed goodies are a must-see, even if you're just passing through.
