My 2023 Personal Goals
Alright glow getters, let’s talk about our 2023 goals! I know that January and sometimes even February are reset months, but now that we’re in March, it’s time to start taking action on some of our goals for the year. When it’s comes to goal planning and execution, I like to follow the SMART criteria — Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Now, I’ve previously talked about goal planning, but today I want to talk about goal categories.
I find it valuable to break my goals into 2 categories: Personal and Professional. Then from there, I break out the goals into categories and then bite size goals within those categories. Below is an abbreviated overview of my 2023 personal goals.
Home Organization
declutter the entire house
organize the entire house
implement a schedule to keep the house clean and organized
Travel
2+ family trips (out of the country and in the U.S.)
2+ baecations
1+ sponsored trip
Self Care
movement throughout the week (walks, Peloton, pilates/yoga)
regular hair, nails and spa appointments
wear clothes and shoes that make me feel good (day/night)
implement a new, weekly skincare regimen
take my makeup skills up a notch
daily meditation, gratitude, journaling and prayer
grant myself grace when needed
Routines
for peaceful + productive days (work/life balance and success)
Walking, reading, listening to podcasts, cleaning/resetting, morning routine and wake up time, evening routine and bedtime, etc.
for building wealth
for selfcare
for family (home, kids, meals, activities, etc.)
This overview was the blueprint then used to make my goals more specific and time-bound. The key to achieving goals within a calendar year or any timeframe is to take it 1 step at a time. When you try to do too many things at one time, you’ll end up doing nothing or worse burnt out. I’ve been making moves on my travel and self care goals, but not so much yet with routines and home organization, which is fine because this a marathon not a sprint. My goals are attainable, so I know I will achieve them.
Pro Tip 1 — create a digital vision board and make it the screen saver on your phone. This is sure to help keep you motivated and to keep your goals top of mind.
Pro Tip 2 — Write a statement(s) that highlight why you want to achieve your goals, and write in present tense as a manesfestation. Knowing your why is what will also push your forward. Here is an example:
My home is a beautiful sanctuary and brings peace, not chaos. It’s warm, inviting and functional. I travel every quarter with ease, and enjoy luxury accommodations. My children experience new and fun places. I run my feet through the sand and enjoy fun in the sun. Travel is a welcomed breath of fresh air. I use my PTO with no guilt. I put myself first and it shows in my body, mind, soul and spirit. I feel good, I look good and I take good care of myself. My self care regimen is non-negotiable. My life is in order. I rarely feel flustered. I have implemented daily and weekly routines, systems and have support that helps me to function well and flourish on all fronts.
Now, let’s hold each other accountable. What’s 1 of your personal goals for the year? Let me know in the comments. I’ll come back this week to share my professional goals for 2023.
Have a glowing day!
