Women's HERstory Spotlight - Maaden Eshete Jones

Welcome to Day 2 of the Women’s History Month Celebration Circle. I’m shining a light on some glow getters, and they in turn are sharing their wins and shining a light on other women, too. Today, I’m spotlighting one of my good friends whose light shines so bright. She is a joy to know, and it’s a joy witnessing her share her gifts with the world.

MAADEN ESHETE JONES

Share with the glow getter gang a little bit about yourself.

I am a women's wellness advocate, story teller, and lover of hospitality. I am the creator of Love, Maaden -- a community, podcast, and lifestyle brand dedicated to healing through hospitality. I am also a proud wife and miracle mama.

As women, we sometimes don't give ourselves enough credit. However, I want you to take a moment to celebrate yourself. Please share one or more of your wins, or something you're proud of or excited about.

I launched and grew Love, Maaden in a pandemic, while working full time, and keeping our busy toddler at home full time. Cheers to that!

I love cheering on and celebrating glow getters - women committed to growth, achieving their goals and glowing from the inside out. Please share the names of at least 2 women who you feel embody what it means to be a glow getter and why.

Tennille Daniels is a servant leader, and encourager of women who is always pushing us toward vulnerability as a means to growth. She and I have served as cohosts on the Love, Maaden podcast and she is getting ready to launch her own podcast very soon. Stay tuned at tennilledaniels.com.

Sommar Theodore is a fashionista, accountability guru and a believer and follower of Christ. Her faith-based apparel brand Jesus Be Knowin’ marries her love for those three things. She’s not just producing dope apparel, but also hosts weekly “neighbor check-ins” that build community amongst those who wear JBK! You can find her insommary.com or jesusbeknowin.com.

Women's history month is dedicated to celebrating not only women as a whole, but also our contributions that have helped shaped history, society, families and more. With that in mind, share the name of 1 woman you admire and why.

My mom, Erme. She is an encourager and the embodiment of grace under fire, she has a quiet and kind spirit, she's determined and not easily deterred.

Anything else you want to share?

I would love to invite whoever is reading this to sign-up at lovemaaden.com to receive a monthly Love Note from me, be the first to get info about the latest LM 21-day challenge, grab the quarterly LM self care box before it sells out, and learn about the upcoming retreat!

Show Madi some love in the comments! In addition to connecting with her via her website, you should definitely check out her amazing podcast — Love, Maaden: The Podcast. It’s one of my absolute faves, and she and her co-host Tennille are in the midst of season 3, which is full of gems and great guests. Be sure to check it out, and follow her on Instagram @lovemaaden. She was also one of my guests for Fourth Friday’s With Friends (twice actually), and you can catch the replay of our latest chat on loving God, ourselves and others over my IGTV.

Tomorrow, I’m taking the celebration circle over to Instagram Live, so be sure to join me and my guests (20 beautiful, black women) as we celebrate ourselves and other women, too.

Have a glowing day!

Xo,

Shalyce
